Dining at The Old Boma

The cuisine and beverages served at the Poolside Restaurant reflects the different local and colonial influences found in Mikindani. It’s probably best described as ‘Swahili fusion’, with spices and flavours from East Africa mixed with traditional Western dishes. We source our ingredients from local markets or specialist individual growers so our menu reflects seasonal harvest times. There is also a small herb garden at The Old Boma which we are currently extending into a bigger kitchen garden to include vegetables and fruit.

Guests usually choose to be served poolside on the dining terrace, but meals can also be taken in the Blue Lagoon, your private balcony or in the courthouse if requested.
